Courtyard Garden.
A compact backyard reorganized around one clear walking route, a comfortable evening terrace, and planting that still feels layered after peak bloom.

A yard that had pieces, but no sequence.
The design brief starts with a common problem: the house opens into a collection of disconnected zones. The route to seating cuts through planting, the terrace feels exposed, and the garden has no strong read outside peak season.
The fictional solution establishes one legible path, preserves useful canopy, gives the seating zone a planted edge, and repeats a small palette of grasses, flowering perennials, shrubs, and structural evergreens.

Clarify the route from door to terrace before adding more planting.
Use planting height and canopy to give seating a sense of edge without building a wall.
A smaller plant vocabulary makes the whole garden read as one project.
